In the last few years working retail I have worked with two individuals. Both claim the title of carpenter. One has been a carpenter for 30 years. Finely quit when the housing marking died here and also because it was physically starting to catch up with him. But this guys work is just beautiful. I have shown him photos of what I find. he just shakes his head and says he would have fired his crew for that. The other gentlemen claimed to have been a contractor doing remodels during the building boom here. One day the real carpenter was asked to build a large display that looked like the front of a house. He built the thing to code lol. But during the process he needed to make some angled cuts for the trusses. Well we aren't allowed to use any power saw aside from a panel saw and he flat refused to use a hand saw. So the other guy decides he will take the lumber home and cut it there for him. Plan probably would have worked. But all of his cuts varied by an inch. The carpenter did manage to make them work. But there was some less than polite grumbling going on the entire time.
The real carpenter still works there and they have people come into the store specifically to speak to him. The other guy went back to be a contractor again. That lasted about a month
heard some horror story about a shed that was never leveled or square. And now he is a car salesman.
I recently got the wonderful experience of tearing that old display down. Lets just say that old pry bar got a heck of a workout.

Good story ADC. Don't mean to change the subject but I just can't help bragging about this one. I found the rarest creature on earth. I found an honest used car salesman. I've been doing business with him for a couple years now and I haven't caught him in a lie yet. I hope when the time comes, Ford will have him mounted.
