Paul Antczak just posted about the three Ds. Dirty, Difficult, Dangerous, and I would like to add a new one, Dumb.

Today I actually had to do some real wildlife control. I started out with a bat in a commercial building. If you can find the bat immediately, this is like free money. While the rest of the office people are shaking in their shoes, you go quietly about your business of putting the bat into a net and then into a jar. This takes exactly 27.5 seconds and most of that time is answering questions.

My next job was at a nationally known company whose headquarters is in Milwaukee. They had a raccoon that was trying to get into the employee's entrance. ( I'm not making this up ) They would have hired him but they couldn't read his resume. By the time I got there he was trying to apply at the gas station next door.

First of all, he wouldn't voluntarily go into my cage, but when he jumped out of my net, it became personal. As I was hand wrestling him, I asked the maintenance guy when he was going to ask me how many times I've been bitten. ( The gloves I was wearing wouldn't stop a mosquito, much less a raccoon ) He said, and I quote, " I was thinking about it."

Well, not only did I hold the coon down but I also had to reset the cage and then throw him in. ( And all without mishap, I might add ) I told the maintenance guy that he was lucky to get me instead of any of our other technicians. He asked why; what would they have done? Probably ran and hid in their truck, was my answer.

Wink, I don't know how long it takes for nerve impulses to reach your brain from your hands, but I know that coon bites HURT! Thru welder's gloves!
Don't you like having functioning hands?

Dave, you have the right idea, just the wrong body part. It's my brain that doesn't function.

I wonder if there will be enough coffee and middle fingers to make it through the day.
