I kept wondering, during all these postings, why I have never been zapped or even recall putting myself in a position that was unsafe. Could it be that more places are like my house where the wiring is buried? I mean come on, if anybody was going to get nailed by electricity on a ladder, wouldn't I be the first guy that comes to mind?

Probably.....so this thread was about the exceptions. People might use aluminum for all it's advantages. Then, when you are 10 feet from a power line (less frequent due to buried lines in most homes)...use a fiberglass.

Wet deck short fiber glass ladder exploded on me last month thought I had broke my leg at first but got lucky didn't even swell up bad because it broke the skin so it just ozzed out for a few days
