I was working on a bat Job today that the whole
House was stone except for the gable peaks that
Had mock cedar shakes on it! Every time (3)
The sprinkler system would kick on and squeek
Like a bat a couple bats would peak out then go
Back inside the siding. Anyone else notice this
Behavior with that same or similar noise?

Kasey, We see them react to a myriad of noises. I've had the video camera on some of our survey roosts and when my wife stepped on a twig causing a high pitched snap they all get more vocal than simply standing there looking at them. I'm not sure how many folks do this, but on any bat inspection I do a mimic call when close to what I think is a good roost that I can't see everything inside even with snake cams...etc... Nearly every time no matter the species (and I have a bunch) they will vocalize. Whether they are saying "what the heck is that" or "listen to this guy trying to sound like a bat" doesn't matter to me as the effect is what I need and I can say they are inside that location. Same goes for survey work we do, often folks think an area is clear as there isn't guano or other signs, but doing a little "squeaking" results in finding colonies between tight locations or unknown spots where others missed.

Haven't heard them react to sprinklers yet though! But can totally see them doing that!

I was thinking that it would come in handy to
Have bat noises on my phone to use it
When I'm looking for that lonely bat in the
House that the customer can't find if it was common
For them to be vocal to the bat noises I would think it
Would come in handy!
