Helping a landowner out on a small project. He built a road over a small creek and beaver dammed up the culvert. Only flooded about 2 acres of the cutover...not more than knee deep. Broke the dam and have caught 2 adults and 2 kits.....tonight I went there at dusk and saw 1 kit swimming around.....all this occurring within 1 week and after the 2 adults were taken....no more attempts of fixing the breach has been made....do you think I'm done or are the kits gonna stay and re-work the dam

All you can do is keep an eye on it. Some otters might move through and take out the kits for ya..

Kits build,,,,I think it is a "game" to them.
Often i will trap them far away from the lodge in an older part of the colony domain,,, repairing and usually chewing on the largest tree there (late sept on)

I have also watched four kits come out of there den and head right for the dam,,,These have been "group" activities and you have a lone beaver that is learning to adapt on his own. It might even go looking for everyone for a period,,,,,(sac oil from any,,,preferably the sow)

You said you were helping out, sooooooooo...........
