I caught a real dandy mimk in a double dirthole/mousehole set using a mouse lure. I had it set for fox, I think there might have been some fox gland lure as well. Very suprised to see the mink in the trap going bonkers. I figure the double hole and being small holes at that with the mouse lure, the mink may work the set a little longer.

think like a mink. where would you go hunting around in the grass and brush. look for hole and runways. once you see what i am talking about you will find them every where

You just can't start it like a car or stop it with a gun

I would do as Gary suggested with conis. Also look for logs, with mink droppings. Set on the logs, mink love to run them.Dont pass up a hollow log. (in fact I wouldnt pass up most holes)
You might have luck with 110 in cubby boxes if food is scarce.
Pick you out a spot for dirt hole, if legal use a few feathers for eye appeal. When making the set dont worry about making a mess. Make the hole deep. Set trigger on hair, and close to hole. Fence him down to get him over pan. I like fish or muskrat for bait. If legal birds work well also.
Going back to logs, 110's on small logs can prove successful.
Good luck

I am trying homemade cubbies with 120's this year in a similar area. The lack of rain was short and soon the area was under water. so I had to move the boxes. I just covered the boxes with dead grass and formed a hole in the front with a handful of grass. Dang .. I'll go out and take a picture of one for ya. The boxes were easy to make and don't weigh much , taking 2 or 3 at a time isn't too much.
