Went to a house after dark tonight people called said they herd noise in the attic . As they explained it sounded like a pine squirrel to the T . So I walk around the house and in the back find these big cob webs just coverd in bat droppings at this point the customer is about to pack her bags because she's over my shoulder what did you find type thing . So I settler down tell her doesn't mean there in your attic . So the house is tight can't find anything from the ground not a single crack .
Ok let's look in the attic time but still I hunt the whole attic only find two mouse turds that's it ok I'm scratching my head really thought pine squirrel on the drive here then found bat turd eating spidders nasty looking spidders even that nasty bugs eyes glowed in the light .
So next I go over to where they had been hearing most of the noise and pull back the insulation a bit and out comes flying this pine squirrel just pur luck because 0 sign anywhere but come to find out he's totaly living under the pink stuff .
I think wow that was lucky almost settled on mice so now I'm bummed because my oldest son is poking at me why didn't you just grab it . I wasn't ready forit happened so fast . Now he's poking at me that squirrel made you jump Dad haha he's saying ok shut up boy make you walk home right on .
So next I really get lucky I go back out side start shinning around for the squirrels getting up there spot and find this tree limb missing a few leaves yup that's it . I pull the big ladder and put it up there and I'm right next to the hole its the plywood has pulled away from the overhang . Didn't even need to move the ladder type lucky . It was all just pur luck but pur luck made it simple and I was glad for the lady she didn't have bats truely wonderful lady .
The setup was two of my sons custom squirrel traps both baited up with fresh black walnuts set in the gutter next to the gap to wide for a positive set at 10:30 pm .

You DO understand why your son was laughing at you, right?
"It all happened so fast!.... He came outta no where!". Before long you'll be adding, "He moved like lightning! He seemed to be all around me! It was as if he were a GHOST!"

This is too good, Pesky! laugh

If it makes you feel better, though, You're not the only one who's ever been surprised by a squirrel.

I was rooting through the attic over a dentist office. They had been having squille problems and were ready for me to evict them. I was just looking around trying to get a handle on where they were coming and going from. I wasn't even expecting to find one. I heard some scratching behind me. I whipped the flashlight beam around to see the insulation going up the wall behind me had a bulge in it. The bulge was moving!

Now, here I was, no net, no carry cage, not even a bucket or a bag that I could catch a squirrel in. I wasn't even wearing gloves! But I'm the man and this is what they were paying me for. All I knew to do is I slapped one hand against him to hold him down and pummeled him with the other. "Bam! Bam! Bam!" Until he quit moving.

As I pulled the expired cat squirrel from the fiberglass insulation, it dawned on me, "Turtle Man would be proud of me!"

Pesky, why would your son even ask why you didn't grab that squirrel? Were you wearing bite-proof gloves? Nobody has been bit more than me and I stopped grabbing red and grey squirrels ( And they stopped grabbing me ) a long time ago.
