Here's how it works: you go to the attorney to declare bankruptcy. He tells you to get the house fixed up, buy all kinds of new stuff that you can't afford, call your pest control guy and have everything possible taken care of before you tell all these people that whatever money they've collected up to now, is all they're going to get.

We always collect the service call and bill the rest and we have been getting socked more than normal lately. So you say, okay, at least you got paid for the service call. Well yeah, I did but I bet the credit card company didn't. What I would like to do is dump all the animals at the attorney's house. You know he isn't going to be declaring bankruptcy anytime soon.

If you are only collecting for a service call before you start a bat job, i would adjust my payment structure,,,,

Mr Winke,,,,,,,,I would think you would be smart/old enough to know better............

I wonder if there will be enough coffee and middle fingers to make it through the day.

It appears that my post wasn't very clear. I don't believe we've ever gotten stiffed on a bat job. ( I think the customer believes that we would bring the bats back, one at a time. And they ain't wrong )

This has more to do with something like squirrel removal and closing. When I was the only technician I couldn't afford to not get paid. I would take off your closing and re-insert a couple of squirrels if you declared bankruptcy on me.

I think that y'all need to remain professional in conduct, despite a customer declaring bankruptcy. It is unfortunate, especially when you pay your bills...and others do not. Unfortunately, in this entitlement society the cost gets passed along to your good hard working paying customers. frown

Dave, I was always clean shaven, well dressed, and used very professional tools when I would take off MY closures and re-insert THEY'RE squirrels.

Perhaps, but you will get accused of something creative by the folks without the moral fortitude to pay their bill.
