This is only for you Math geniuses. Wisconsin is supposed to have 300 wolves. I'm sure we have over a thousand. The DNR wants to harvest 250. So we will have at least two and a half times more wolves than we are supposed to after the season.

Wolves compete with hunters for whitetails and our 9 day deer season brings in millions of dollars to the state from deer hunters, so wouldn't you want less wolves and more deer? ( Don't even get me started on what the wolves did to our elk herd )

Well the paper today says that our DNR officials are surprised because in the first 6 days 56 wolves were taken by trappers, 28 by gun hunters, and Robin Hood got 1. This is more than twice as many as were taken in the first 6 days last year. Hello! We've been telling you that this wolf thing is nuts and the first one I see down here is dead and I will gladly pay the fine.

P.S. There are two cities that large predators like wolves should be allowed in. Milwaukee is one and Madison is the other. These towns are 80% Liberal and they're the ones who wanted these predators here in the first place.

Alaska did a study on Moose showing how the population of Moose went down when Wolves were too prevalent. Isle Royale is the longest running study of Moose/Wolf relationships. Wolves are so inbred they are dying off. Moose are starting to harm Native plants. There is no other control of Moose on Isle Royale.
MN has more Wolves than WI. They are studying why the Moose are declining in MN. I don't have the info, but like six of the first ten recorded collared Moose deaths, were by Wolves. They are looking at Climate Change, ticks, Brain worm or anything else. They say they "don't" think Wolves are a factor.
There was a "special" Wolf in Yellowstone. It was able to take down an Adult Elk, by itself! The Wolf Lovers were upset when somebody killed it off the Park. They wanted to expand the Wolf Safety Zone another 50 miles.
Last year MN had it's first Wolf season. I talked to an CO about the season limits for an area I applied for. The CO couldn't believe how low the quota was for the area. They said the Govt. trappers take almost three times the quota every year.
All this rambling just shows, THERE IS NO COMMON SENSE ANYMORE!!!!

Just because something is legal doesn't make it smart.

Wisconsin wolf trappers are doing real well. After 10 days, 127 wolves were taken so far. And 101 of those wolves were taken by trappers. One zone is already closed because they're two over quota.

Gitche Gumee, Wisconsin... that is terrific. If I had'nt heard "Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald" today I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much!
