the victor 1.75 should be a fine trap for fox/ coyote combo trap
I like the 1.75 4x4 , I had the jaws laminated and bubble tip on the jaws and added a better baseplate with center swivel
the Sterling 500 will be a good coyote trap but maybe much for fox

I use sleepy creek 1 3/4 offset pretty much straight out of the box. They are strong 2 coil traps.

The 1.75s, laminated, base plated, and with the other usual modifications will serve you well for both fox and coyote. It is as close to a universal canid trap as we have in the lower 48. IMO, 4 coiling is too much, but then again, my pard and I trap the live market, and we do not have the hard cold, and snow/ice that y'all do in N.Y. If I used these traps in my area, for my purposes, I would probably change out the springs to # 2 music wire, and I would open-up a small offset in them. I know several Georgia trappers running the 1.75s, as described, and they are happy with them. Hope you find some Christmas presents when you run your line today. Adios, 45/70,

I use montana #3 for yotes and I like the power and speed. They will hold a fox too.LOL Mine a four coiled and offset, they are a bit hard on fox though. The 13/4 will be a rightous fox trap but my yotes here a rather large. I have yet to catch one this year under 40 pounds.

I think the new MB-550-RC may fit your bill of needs, not sure about the jaw spread restriction though.

I had some of the same dilema....I was mainly trapping bobcats and a few coyotes but wanted to catch more fox with a few extra sets...I was using Monty #3s. I bought some 1.75s and 2s (basic no mods) for fox but started catching yotes in the fox sets and did lose a couple. So I am back at strictly #3s for all three and just have been using offsets without a whole lot of problems.
LETS GET IT ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No idea when they will be ready. I'm excited to get some myself, I took the picture off the post from Paul down a little further. There are about 4 different pictures of the trap if you look there. We have alot of fox/yote combo areas here, and I feel it will be the perfect trap for those areas.

Mike:
You might want to take a look at the trap that Rag57078, makes, he is in the chat almost every night. You can see them here.
