Does anyone know where I can purchase flattened steel or aluminum c-clips for building or modifying cage traps? I'm not talking about hog rings or c rings, what I'm looking for is a clip that is made JUST LIKE a J-clip, but is bent on both ends into a C shape. I have a hard time getting J-clips into tight spaces, even w/ the smaller pliers. The C- clips can be placed anywhere w/ a pair of needle nose pliers & tighten down nicely. When I use the J-clips w/ needle nose pliers it doesn't close completely. I used to have a bunch of these but ran out & now I can't seem to find them anywhere, or even find anyone who seems to know what I'm talking about. Thank you!!

Are you talking about clinch clips? They are used for trap making as well.

safeguard trap company used to sell them. Tomahawk trap company may sell them also.

Hey Rob, I encountered this situation several months ago. I only live about 20 minutes from BASS equipment in Monett so I went and visited with them. They sell J clips and pliers as well as c-rings and ring guns but nothing like I wanted. The mattress clinch clips are used in a lot of trap/cage making but generally require the use of a pneumatic gun. However, I did find the clinch clips and clip pliers online in the UK but can't find a US supplier. I've provided a link below of the products. So, if anyone knows of a US supplier of these types of clinch clip pliers please post it here. Thanks.

Thank you guys for the responses. I'm checking into these avenues now. Mike, I don't think the clinch clips are exactly what I used to have, but if I can't find what I'm looking for I may have to give them a try. I just hate to have something that requires a pneumatic gun to use. When I'm out on the job & constructing a barrier out of hardware cloth to funnel squirrels into a trap, it's nice to just be able to have a pair of needle nose pliers & some clips to quickly put together. I'm going to try safeguard & tomahawk & if no luck I guess I'll be looking to the UK lol

Rob - I hope you find what you are looking for. I thought you needed something for bench work.
