We have them in BIG flocks around feed yards in the winter.

Most all truck dock netting jobs are a direct result of starlings using them for winter roost sites. (Central IL)

Did a Georgia-Pacific plant that had about 6000 roosting nightly. They were paying $1200 per week to have the floor pressure washed. It was slick as ice to walk on the white goo. And nasty!

All the starlings I ever had the pleasure to work with were during the winter on feedlots and in dairy barns. Lots of food and warmth to get them through the winter.

Ron your descriptions give a great visual, I can truly picture that ice skating arena! smile

I was wondering where all of our starlings were, we usually have flocks that black out the sun in the fall. Haven't seen any big flocks this year, just talked to a friend of mine the other day about that.
