I just talked to the two most outstanding experts on global warming, God and Dave Salys.

Salys told me that giving any more money to Al Gore should be considered treason and dealt with promptly.

God told me that he can handle any gas and pollutants that we send his way and that any contributions to the church of your choice would be looked upon with favor; especially this time of the year.

This must be the coldest December I've ever experienced. I was really hoping that this global warming thing was true but you can't disbelieve both God and Salys.

Wink, gotta catch up on the GW issue, maybe they should have used a different term as climate change shows in a number of ways not just by how
warm/cold it is. Seems recently I heard about a few of the highest paid advocates for the folks from big oil that after crunching all the numbers and looking at the research to prove this wasn't an environmental issue, these folks left the side they were being paid for and jumped shipped to tell the results which showed the other side is far closer to the "truth."

I doubt anyone can look at how many folks we have on the planet and not understand we are having a greater impact, to deny that simple truth is a bit scary in my mind.

However, how fast its happening, can we fix it or help it, etc.... Now those are conversations worth having...

Justin, it really becomes a problem for people my age and older because we had to listen to the same line of bull in reverse. The scientists showed without a doubt that freezing temperatures were coming to all the temperate zones and that it no longer paid to move to Florida because it was going to be just like Wisconsin. And they had all the studies to back them up, just like now.

Back in the late 70's and early 80's I remember being told that our Earth was heading into another ice age. I remember one speculation of the possibility of ice fishing in the Gulf of Mexico someday.

Thirty to forty years later and we are now facing the inevitable circumstances about to be launched on this world by global warming.Hotter colder who really knows !

Its kind of hard to convince me and my 55 years that our climate has changed that much to be warned of both extreme directions in my lifetime.

I grew up in a world strongly influenced by Rachel Carson. We all need to be better stewards of the world around us and protect our own land and water sources.

I understand all that. What I don't like are the idea of carbon credits !!

As this article shows, the problem is much worse than you realize. Our evil use of refined oil products for the last 200 years has even started to affect Mars and Jupiter's ice caps. Not surprisingly, the big oil company's haven't sent a dime to relief efforts on either of those two planets. Proving that they are just greedy racists.
We were much better off giving all of our money to the big whaling companies. They were way less greedy.

I guess one of the things that bother people that have lived at least seventy years is that for one thing, we are a heck of a lot more healthy than our parents were at 70. One of the other things is that we have pictures of snow that was as high as the top of apple trees in winter. And then, of course, we have a record setting heat wave the same year in summer. I personally walked down the Little Menomonee River without getting my feet wet. Now that same river is in the process of being dammed up to prevent flooding.

On the bright side, when all of you guys get to be seniors, you will have nearly the same memories as we do. And all of your grandchildren will look at with that same "This must be dementia, this couldn't possibly be true" look that we receive now. Enjoy it, you all have so much to look forward to that I can't even describe it.

P.S. I'm not sure if there is a medical study for this or if this is just my experience. The men in our family that were always positive and had a great outlook on life, never watched the news. Conversely, the pessimists in our family would never miss the news. I always wondered about that.

Congratulations Dave!!! This now entitles you to sit way down in your car seat so that other drivers cannot see you, go 10 miles an hour under the limit, with your directional light flashing all the way. And if your hearing is as bad as mine, you'll barely be able to hear the other cars honking.
