very rarely do I place traps in the attic i prefer exclusion methods however when I do place in the attic I have 1/4" pvc secured to the bottom of the cage I will pack that with peanut butter with a toasty peanut trail leading to the cage. They practically can't resist.

Exclude all entry points except for one or two. Mount double door traps over access holes so that squirrels that are in the attic have little choice but to go into trap and squirrels that are outside when you mount the trap have to go thru the trap to enter. I mostly use these:

Comstock Custom CAges

Depending on the situation it will require some engineering to mount the trap over the hole. Often requires the use of some hardware cloth, screws, brackets etc.

Now keep trapping til you catch them all but most importantly you have got to catch the big mature mama squirrel. Finally remove traps and seal final holes.

you all ready got the trap now you need to find out where the squirrels are coming out at and where there coming down at. set the trap next to there and bait with what ever is growing on your block that they are eating on and leave a small trail to lure the squirrel to the trap. squirrels love eating but if they find it closer then they g for that. it might take 3 or 4 days to trap the first squirrel and another 3 to 4 days for the next but keep it up and in 2 to 3 weeks depending on the amount of squirrels to traps.

A nose cone placed over the entry with either a double door trap or a multiple catch trap will usually wrap it up pretty fast. You can cover the holes with traps or block off all entrances and set one.

tomahawk has some excellent multi catch traps including some new comstocks that work very well. I really like the comstock gutter model. The tunnel trap from wcs is a good addition to set around your multi catch. If you use a coni over the whole I would use a metal leader,a 120, or 5x5 not a 110 and paracord to let him fall into the bushes or fix it to stay in a box. Nothing looks worse to a person who doesn't have an animal in their house than an animal hanging off a house. I like to friendly up even the posi sets with some peanut buttter and walnut oil. My favorite premade lure is Jameson's or Ron Jones redneck line. Attach all your traps especially if there is a walkway or driveway below. A squirrel in a trap laying on the ground makes you look kinda stupid one on a head or a volvo will make our rates go up or make your client wish he had checked making sure you had insurance.
You don't have to think fast if you think ahead. Make a decision before you climb that you are not going to leave your best friend the ladder and if you do you are going to tie him off so he doesn't leave you. Take your cell phone in case he does. Some cougar paws will make you feel like spider man but don't forget your not and start doing things we shouldn't.
Don't forget to take a loved one to dinner with the money you made and treat her like you mean it. We never know it may be our last chance to show it. You learn that from getting old and doing every stupid thing possible.

Sleep'n with an animal..I can help.
Do not use both feet when testing the depth or temperature of the water
