I'm wondering how you all keep your knives sharp. I've done some searches and found people on a few different forums talking about this system so I thought I'd ask to see what you thought. Do you use it? Do you prefer it? I need a good way to keep my skinning knives sharp, especially the points!

I have an Aunt that does it at bass pro with the paper wheel, I am very impressed with it and I have had had several people comment on how sharp they stay. I think a lot of it depends on the quality of the knife If you need to buy one just let me know I know she sells them

hmmf...never heard of it i think i'll try loading a felt wheel up with abrasive though, then finishing it with a basic jewelers polishing compound doubt i'll ever do silversmithing again, so i can donate my felt wheels to the cause

I have a stitched muslin wheel on my bench grinder. Use 220 grit polish on it. Works great. Restores the edge in about fifteen seconds. You can get the wheel and the polish from Brownell's.
A soft answer turneth away wrath.

White I thought you were an old foagie that remembered the olden days. Just use one of those in combination. Get the sucker spinning, then hone your edge. You may need a metal disk or something to build momentum, but it will work. I used to get one of those spinning and it seemed like it ran forever...granted, I was 4, but it was still fun to play with.
