First ice here in awhile - got all excited walking to make an under ice 330 set in a pond. Fell, thus learned that ice is hard. Also learned a neglected ice auger does not cut very good. Had to use a hatchet to make the hole for the set. One week later, am sitting on the ice (so I don't fall)whacking at the hole with the hatchet to check the 330. It was late afternoon, dim twilight. The house is about 100 yards from where I was whacking the hole. Husband comes running out then starts laughing. "You're not a beaver!" He explained that his wife heard my chopping and thought I was a large beaver caught in a trap, whacking my tail on the ice. Sigh.

frank zappa,,,,,,,,, strictly commercial........ You on a dental floss ranch? YES, becoming a dental floss tycoon! Where is the hidden video when we need it. I was afraid you went under while sitting on the ice. Happened to a friend of mine 30 yrs ago, and only his butt fell thru first and his feet stayed on ice briefly, plunging him in headfirst. It's always wise to bring along a stout, arm sized stick about 6-10 ft long and lay it within reach to help in case you go in. I STILL want to see a bald beaver pounding on the ice!
