This year i'm in charge of keeping the starlings out of our church.. well I was in charge last year.. LOL.. between a pcp air rifle and a 12 gauge I killed the heck out of them but you could not tell it.. still managed to get in the sanctuary and make a mess.. this year i'm planning on building some repeating traps that look like bird houses... just wondering if any of you have had any success with them or maybe a different design? thanks! here is what I had in mind

Sounds like you need to patch holes. I am going to build one of the traps like you showed also. Maybe we can see how they work.

How come you can't get most people to go to church but you can't get the starlings to stop going?

Use your time and effort to bird-proof the structure instead of wasting time building traps. You can treat the symptom or cure the problem. Operating a wildlife control business changes the game plan from trapping to problem-solving in most cases.

They don't have a bird problem, they have a structure problem. Exactly the same approach as working with bats. Never catch them, shoot them, or poison them. The solution requires keeping them out altogether.

Maybe some pics would be helpful so we can "see" what it looks like.
