If you are forced to buy a PC for work then I encourage you to save the hassle and purchase online so you can get windows 7 installed as a second operating system.
I went to Best Buy and was told 8 was the only thing available. I hire Geek squad to show me how to use my new computer. After showing me how to download from the net, I asked how someone was supposed to get work done and he responds with "if you are going to use it for work, you should have gotten windows 7 or 10." He went on to explain that Microsoft will not allow them to sell anything but 8 in the store and I would have to order 7 from their online store.
Best buy has lost a very good customer.

Over Mtn, I can't imagine Best Buy lasting too much longer. They are not competitive with their on-line competition and I would rather go to Target where I get 5% off and better sales people. I can get better computer help right here on T-man than I can at Best Buy.

What should put them out of business is Amazon, though when I was flying to Idaho a few months back I noticed best buy has a kiosk (self serve) in the terminal. Now if you'll pay the prices in the typical best buy store and find them to be a good price, imagine what the folks buying from the kiosk are paying when heading on vacation and forgetting their camera, or ipod, etc.... $$$$$

My first stop with any purchase of electronics is Amazon to compare all prices and see what the best deal is, then if you can find it locally cheaper rock on, otherwise, online, free shipping from big names is still possible with less cash!

I'll say again, switching to a Mac left all the nonsense (literally) that I saw with my own pc's and govt. pc's for more than 15 years of windows based crud...

If you don't use a computer much switching probably doesn't merit the cost, but otherwise once you go mac you won't go back!

My brother's a Microsoft Certified Engineer, doesn't have much good to say about Windows 8.
Hey, Wink, how d'you get 5% discount at Target? Do they offer free bank-account clean-outs as well?
The day after Thanksgiving I was checking out at Target. Cashier asked me if I wanted to join their buyer's club. I said, "Yeah, I guess." Name, address etc., etc.
Then she asked me for my social security number! I grabbed my wallet with both hands, backed away and said "NNNooo way!" Imagine the mess I could have been in.

Although my wife has been a long time Target shopper, it's fairly new to me. Since everyone in the world knows about their hacking problems, I feel just as safe with them as I do with any other card.

I do like the fact that when you scan your Target charge card, the 5% comes off immediately. ( They also seem to always have the best price on Reese's dark chocolate peanut butter cups which is the most important part of any meal )

i use windows 8 and love it...have figured out how to use it...it is more like using a smart phone though...we have a HP all in One meaning the monitor and the computer are all one unit...big screen...i build websites on it...etc...

Oh great! It's more like using a phartsmone. Pretty soon the only thing I'll be able to operate will be sticks and stones.

i should clarify and state that i have a dumbphone...it slides open and i text on it but do not have access to the internet on it nor do i want internet on it
