Annie bought a house on a salt river in coastal NC. She forced me to get a black lab puppy, sell all my stuff, and be her slave. This last Pennsylvania winter convinced us. Here is ZEUS master black lab of the universe!!!!

Nope, we are either selling giving ditching or burning most everything - re-inventing our selves, travelling light to the new place on Blounts Creek. I will not be doing any NWCO work in NC but may try to fur trap enough nutria & otter for a hat if there is no ice or freezing air. We have to learn 4 kinds of sittin'
1.sittin' on the dock on the bay
2.fire circle sittin'
3.screened porch sittin'
4.sittin' on the open deck when there's no bugs

Don't let him kid you. People like Phil ain't never content with just sittin. They gotta spread their oldness and crankiness all over the place.

Old Phil will find that a difficult transition in sittin on the dock of the bay.

Before long he will get the itch again.Ask my buddy Mike Page what happened to him moving to Florida leaving his livelihood behind.His wife had his life all planned out too

Its hard work trying to fill the day with nothing to do after a couple of weeks sippin shine. Then you just may get into a daze and coast from jug to glass.

I am not too far behind Phil. But not heading south. May just do some mole trapping and consultation work. Anything to keep off ladders and out of the attics.

Bob, that's a great analogy; Phil and Mike Page. How come everyone knew what was going to happen to Mike, except Mike. I'll bet even Marilyn knew!

P.S. Although I did steal Mike's company name, I didn't know it at the time. He's probably the original Advanced Wildlife Control.

The last I heard from Mike he was the pilot of a flying lawnmower in Florida. I guess if he had crashed we would have heard about it by now.

My daughter in Chapel Hill has made me familiar with clear liquid in a mason jar. But "Edith" and me will be occupied for a while training her black child lab puppy to obey, hunt, fetch ducks, and not get bit by a cottonmouth or eaten by a gator.

I have arrangements with several competitors to funnel my jobs. Have been easing into this for awhile, we shall see how that works out.

Having had and trained 5 labs in the family with only one that was house broke
and chewless, I think I know what to expect.

I have a friend who bought a new $7000 John Deere mower. Then he got a black Lab pup. One morning the friend went out to find every plastic knob or handle on the mower chewed off or nearly chewed off. That Lab became the dog of many names.

Many try but most get back into to it Phil. I was talking to Mike about 6 weeks ago. he has slowed down well maybe LOL

Good looking pup. He looks a lot like mine. Watch out for the chewing as other comments are no joke. Mine chewed up my porch spindles, brother's lawn mower, chair legs, every trailer connector that pulled into my driveway. I even tried pepper spray on the porch, he just drooled and kept gnawing. I now consider him to be the best dog I've ever had but he was hands-down the worst puppy!

I will fight with all my will to stay off ladders and not crawl into dark place. The one thing I have going for me is short attention span and ODCS (On the Downhill Cognitive Slide.)

We both swore off labs and had been doing ok until this pups picture. We both snapped at the same time - yes he is beautiful, but [Please excuse my language... I'm an idiot]. We are insane.

For all who know about lab puppy chewing - thanks for the warnings. Zeus is our first dark eye English lab. All the other were the spastic, hyper amber eyed Americans. One thing in our favor is that since we are retired, one of us is always there to watch. We give him a B so far in chewing obedience. He tried to get a beaver hide but Annie caught him "NO Zeus." He pinned his ears and left it alone. He sleeps through the night in his crate and is 90% house broken.

Phil is only 85% housebroken so you can see why Annie bought the dog. So Phil, how old are you anyway? ( That's just so the older guys can make fun of you like they do to me )

He's old enough for Viagra but too old for Cialis. And 4hrs is just too long for phil to stand on his head being he doesnt have any hair left to cushion his head.
