Are you guys using belly wedges? F&T only has mink wedges....I'm sure those will work, hey?

I never use a belly board on Weasel.

I do know of a couple of trapper who are slight in build that use a chopstick or a shiskabob stick.

Thanks...I figured you'd be the one to chime in first! You got me on a weasel binge now!

I think I get to call in to work on Friday, so I'll be making some stuff up. I'm starting a new job on Jan 14 and need a TB test read on Friday afternoon....then I'll have the first two weeks of January off if the girlfriend will let me....which I think she will. These little guys better watch out for the next 2 months!

Being the Weasel is stretched fur in they do not pull off the board very hard. Well--- unless you have a hard time tearing paper with your bare hands !

I just grab them at the shoulder and give them a little wiggle as I pull. Never had one stick yet !! It gets easy after the first couple of hundred .

Popsicle sticks work good as do paints sticks split into multiple small sections. Happy trapping. ScottW

2poor,

Last year i put up 30, and used a pencil for a belly board. i never tried to not use one. I did get some were labeled dmg at nafa, and i could not figure out why. do you think the pencil caused that?. to me it should not matter.

I use shiskabob sticks and have had no problems. Ron, a pencil might be too much. And I might be of slight build but I still get the job done.

Just not without a belly board !

I learned to handle Weasels from Merlyn Ladd one of MN best fur handlers. He convinced me it was not needed and now I believe it !!

im no pro at doing weasels but i have never had a problem taking them off, if you think you will put them outside for a few minutes that works when i forget to wedge a coon.
