This is my first year doing adc work.So I have another rookie question. How hard will it be to live trap a coyote and what should I charge to do so? I havent been to look at the job yet but the lady has cats and dogs so footholds are out of the question

WALK AWAY

It's footholds or not at all. Cages are a non starter for what we do. Yes, the occasional young and dumb may walk into a cage but coyotes as a rule will not willfully enter an enclosure.

If you can not rule out non target catches then don't set footholds.

The collarum would be ideal for this job and properly set cable restraints could avoid the cats but you can thank the GTA for not letting us NWCOs select the best tools for the job.

You think I could try locating the den or calling and shooting them?

If you can shoot there that may be an option. I can't in the metro.

Please David, don't encourage me. I own everything there is to own and have truthfully used very few. I am about 24 hours away from getting a Benjamin Marauder in .25 caliber. I've seen that so-called air rifle demonstrated when it first came out.

If any of you guys out there have experienced any draw-backs, please let me know. ( I am betting that there can't be too many, because this gun seems to be hard to find.

I had a call the other day where the person said my cat was killed and taken by a coyote. I asked how they knew it was a yote and not something else? he said what else would kill my cat sleeping in an enclosed outdoor bar. the cat sleeps under the bar on a shelve. there was blood and hair all over. I said well this time of year could be a fox or coon also. He asked in a non believing way a coon? I replied yep. he said I have a pic from my surveillance camera, well what do you see? can't tell it is fuzzy on my little screen I will blow it up, but pretty sure it is a coyote. I told him no problem call me when you want me to come. 4 days later I get the call, hey Ron it was a coon. when he enlarged the pic it was plain as day.
