This may not have been the most brilliant purchase of my career. Besides costing over 500 bucks with the tax, now I'm going to have to go out and slay over a thousand dollars worth of varmints to prove to my lovely bride that we really needed another gun in our business. ( I'm not sure, but I think that is gun number 127 or 128 )

On the bright side, I found a scope that will fit, so I won't have to buy a scope or mounts. ( I think that was the scope I forgot to put on gun number 126 )

I've been drooling over those. Opinions about .22 vs .25?

I'll have to shoot a boat load of squirrels with my springer before I could afford a marauder.

When they first came out, the Crosman salesman attended one of our seminars in central Wisconsin. He demonstrated the quietness and power of the .25 caliber. It went through all of his demonstration boards and lodged in the baseboard of the hotel room we were in.

It took me a few years, but I decided that I could probably kill deer with the .25, so that's what I bought.

Did you get the new synthetic stock or the wood stock? WalMart has .22 cal synthetic stock for $199.00. I got my wood stock .22 for $150 from WM, it was $250 at Gander Mtn.

Can you say where you ended up getting the best deal Paul?

I'm not sure that this was the absolute best deal but it couldn't have been too bad. I paid $491 and change, plus tax, from Amazon with free shipping.

I also bought a Canon Pixma printer combo for $59. I know it wasn't the one that Mike Hurley wanted me to get, but his was $360. I figured I can get six of them for $360 and think of all of those free ink cartridges.

My goal for our company is to have all of our customers as satisfied with us as Amazon's customers are with them. ( They don't make the products but they sure do a great job with shipping and guarantees )

The only problem I see with the 25 caliber is the power when shooting in buildings for bird removal etc. They can potentionally punch a hole in the roof in some areas if you arent real careful about selecting your backing on your shots. You know how birds can give you the worst positions at times.

Bob,fortunately a couple of the other 126 guns at my disposal include a fairly accurate .22 Gamo and a couple of .177s. Some people, when they are able to purchase guns and declare them as tax deductible, can control themselves. I am not one of these people.

I guess that an interesting article for WCT might be my ownership of guns and how it progressed from dispatching to hunting to trap shooting and then to ADC work. I guess that's something to think about. ( I'm thinking of a picture of me trying to hide all my handguns for a concealed carry picture )

Well then you have it covered pretty well then. I had been thinking about the 25 or the 9mm rifle caliber but some of them are as loud as some high velocity rimfire reports. So I am still pondering which way to go. I also have quite a selection of air rifles like I need another write off for the business as well.

Bob, I will give you a report on the noise factor as soon as I have time to shoot it. You know that when you don't even have time to pull the trigger on a brand new gun, that you are busy. Oh well, complaining about a lot of business sure beats the heck out of complaining that you're broke!

Did you buy the hand pump or will you be using a compressor/tank system to charge things up?

Good question, Tom. I didn't buy a hand pump yet. I'm not sure what the best way to go is yet. I guess I'd prefer to turn on my air compressor.

You may be able to buy six for the price of one, but will the one last as long as five? And do you have six to back it up? SUre is a bummer when you one cheap one breaks in the middle of a job and your only choice is to go buy a new one at the store wasting time and money.

Besides the new Canon, we have two Brothers and four HPs that are in use constantly. We needed another all-in-one for my daughter Stacy and CR gave this one a "best buy". She loves the new Canon and it doesn't take up a lot of space. She's happy. Need I say more?
