So how do you guys come up with price list for your businesses? does anyone have a generic one that would be willing to share. I open a WCO business in my area and I'm in need of help figuring out what to charge and so fourth. Thanks in advance.

That's a question rarley answered and never agreed upon. I have yet to start work so I don't want to give u a list I haven't yet tested.

but, to get a rough idea; start with how many hours it will take you to do the average job including drive time, talking to customers, rebaiting, removal of wildlife, etc. For me, a five day job at two hours a day average is the max I think it should ever take me. Now how much do u want to make hourly?. Double that for insurance, expenses etc. Now add a healthy % for growth.

review you numbers quarterly and adjust accordingly. You should NEVER Pay business cost out of pocket. Traps, gloves, cleanin supplies, insurance. All needs to be covered.

I cover a big area. I made a list of all the towns in the area we cover. Then I figured a base price per mile. Some towns are 5 miles away and some as far as 60 miles away. Figuring what I needed per mile was the hard part. Made a chart with all the towns and what the base fee is for each town. That fee covers travel to and from and about 1/2 hour time. Anything over 1/2 hour is extra. It works for me.

Don't worry about what others are charging as they will have different expenses and goals than you do. Although my rates on posted on the Internet, I guarantee that my expenses, salary requirements, and desired company profit will be different than yours.

Instead, focus on what you need to make to cover expenses, salary, and company profit. The formula is expenses+salary+profit/billable hours. That will tell you how much you need to make on an hourly basis to survive. How you decide to present your hourly worth to the customer is salesmanship and marketing, not pricing.

For example, if you need to make $100/hr to succeed you probably won't quote this price to someone needing a raccoon removed as they would be concerned with how quickly the job could increase in cost. Instead, you estimate that you will have 3 trips into the job with each trip consisting of 1 hour with a total project time of 3 hours or $300. So to sell the job you can say you have a $150 service fee, a per animal fee of $75 and the exclusion services would be $75.

Here's our way of pricing. Let's say we get a new job and we have no idea of how to price it. My wife will call my son and get a price. Then she will double it because she knows that my son wants every job that calls in.

We get the job anyway because nobody else wants to do it. If you think that I am making this up, you are wrong. Almost always, I am the one sent to these jobs so that they have somebody to blame, that is hard of hearing, in case the job goes south.

Welcome to my world!

its hard not to, but seriously don't worry about what others charge. People cut their own throats by being the lowest price.
