I have a Red fox that my uncle gave me-he shot it yesterday morning, i recieved it late last night-to late to skin and have enough sleep for school, skinned it bout 2 hours ago. the skin on the belly back by the hindend area has a greenish tint to it. I read in the archives that bleach and water misted on to it will stop the bacteria.--problem is that it doesnt have the actual amounts needed. i was wonderin what yall use to stop the bacteria?

thanks

Rub some borax on it. There is a chance that the fur could slip with the buyer and that means lost profit for the buyer and in the end lost profit for the trapper when the buyer pays less to compensate for overhead. This not only hurts you, but also the guys that put up good fur.

No real set forumula... a 1/3 oz or so in a 16oz spray bottle works fine..and YES do it...it'll kill the green and eliminate most of the odor associated with such.
