Every year we exchange names and buy the person whose name we get, a Christmas gift with a maximum price of $75. I always buy every

everything I need when I need it, so I'm a real pain-in-the butt to buy for. I need to make a list of stuff that I want and my

mind is blank. Here's where you guys come in. What would you like for Christmas that costs no more than 75 bucks? ( I can't wait

for some of these answers )

Travis, great post and sent to the right guy. When I was in the rifle club in high school, we got regular velocity long rifle ammo

from Camp Perry for nine bucks a thousand, plus change. Regular velocity is way more accurate and all of us rifle club guys had

more than enough to start to small scale war! I really feel sorry that all the criminals wrecked it for my kids. I actually had to

explain the whole rifle club scenario to the latest principal at our last reunion. ( Also, where I used to smoke my daily cigarettes )

On the bright side, I have a range in the basement and if I live long enough, every grandkid will learn how to load and shoot,

whether they want to or not, just like their folks.

Sportsman's Guide has a Cuddeback game cam witta 1/3-second response for ~$62. I could find a use for that.

I shoot standard velocity stuff too. Really liked PMC zappers and side winders but I guess they quit making them. I have to shoot Eley tennex in my 40X though, it will not shoot anything else. That 40X is a trip, my old man has one too and we were shooting one day. One of his city buddy's showed up and asked what we were up to so I told him we were shooting starlings. He asked if he could shoot too and I said sure. So he goes to his car and gets a model 60 with iron sights and I kinda chuckled. He thought I was poking fun at his gun and I said no I just didn't figure you would have much fun, we are shooting their beaks off and the closest shot we've had all day is 40yds. He shook his head and left.

I guess I envy you a little bit, Travis. My old man knew which end of the gun the bullet came out of but if it hadn't been for me,

I doubt he would have hunted much after my sister and I were born. I kind of rekindled his desire and though we were never great

pals like some father/son teams, my fondest memories are of us hunting together. I will never forget one of the last things he said

to me a few days before he died: " I talked to some of my city friends and they said that you're idea of doing animal damage control

and removal would probably be successful." That was the most complimentary thing my old man ever said to me.

We got a call today where the customer asked if we would pick up a dead or dying miniature donkey. How do you not know if it's one

or the other?

Meanest little devils to ever walk the earth! Biters they are! Used them to break 4H calves to lead, 30 minutes hooked to a mini donkey and that calf would follow him anywhere. It's a good thing they don't judge on tooth structure!

Calling ahead I guess. I learned something on my last pot bellied pig call. The nice lady called ahead to make arrangements for her "small" potbelly pig. I learned that small is relative when speaking of pigs. And that livestock still ambulatory should be taken advantage of and moved uphill to the driveway to await the end.
