Bag balm works wonders.

I remember when I was real little I got horrible cracked and dry hands. Every night, I would gob on the bag balm and rub it in as best as I could. Then I would pull over a mid shin high sock over each hand to keep it from getting all over my bed.

Right now, I use this other type of lotion every night, but if my hands get really bad and red, bag balm is my go to thing.

I make my own hand cream. It's using the old formula for "rosebud salve" only, I don't use the rose oil. It's mainly lanolin and beeswax. I'll post the recipe when I get back from christmas...I don't have it handy now.

It works great...I also have some for sale. It's a 60mL jar for $5.00 (PM me about it) I use the heck out of it.

I trap beaver and am a woodworker...so... I'm a cracked, bleeding hands expert...LOL.

I've tried most all the normal hand products and the only one I found to be a true miracle is called O'Keeffe's Working Hands. It works even better than pure lanolin...which was my old standby.
It comes in a bright green, plastic "snuff can" like container. It's not your usual greasy hand cream. The greasy hand creams never did any good for me. NO kidding within 3 days of using it (about 4 applications a day)...I can turn velcro fingers and cracked bleeding hands into baby soft skin.

It's made in Oregon so might be tough to find out of state. They have a website http://www.okeeffescompany.com if you can't find it locally. Home Depot, Harbor Freight and some of the sporting goods stores carry it around here. It's about 6 bucks and comes with a money back guarantee.

I was skeptical at first...But I wouldn't be without it now. Best product I've ever used.
