You are all correct. We have the most oil, so far, in the world. Like everyone else, we export to the highest bidder.

Just hit $1.86 and $2.99 for diesel. I'm sure this is helping everyone's bottom line. Merry Christmas!

Canada is a great guess, but as of right now, it's the country right below it. I'm sure we won't be the top dog for long as this is a

pretty large planet and there is still a whole lot of exploring to be done. I had been told some time ago that one of the largest

deposits of natural gas is right in the gulf of Mexico. I have to say that I never thought I'd ever see gasoline ( or whatever that

garbage is that I put in my tank ) sell for less than $2, but I was wrong!

My guess is Canada.

I'm thinking the Russian Taiga. (my bad, am I right?)

And this year you get an extra cent and a half per mile deduction. Go figure.

In MN we have E-85 which is %85 Ethanol. E-85 has usually sold for 45-60 cents less per gallon, Monday I saw it selling for 1 cent more than regular! $1.83 regular $1.84 for E-85 at two stations in Chisago and Lindstrom.

Saw on the news that while the cheaper gas is great for the consumer, and good for some Biz's like restaurants, retail shop's etc, a bunch of people are getting laid off in the oil patch's and related industries. Something to think about.

Always a downside to anything. If we ever gained world peace 1.3 million american soldiers would be out of a job. Hopefully those in the oil industry can find jobs with the upswing in travel and tourism.

The down side to low fuel prices is greatly outweighed by the benefits to the overall economy, every section but the producers benefits. Until now, I have never heard talk about the wonder of high fuel prices. Oil stocks would soar if fuel goes up to $10 a gallon, but everything else would be in the dumper. Governments gear up and set their spending levels based on fuel pricing so here in N.Y. when we finally get a little break, which is not nearly as much of the rest of the country because our taxes are a huge percentage of the total cost, law makers are talking about raising the taxes on gasoline yet again due to lost sales tax revenue from lower fuel prices, pure genius. The consumer can't win. When I hear $1.67 in some places and we still struggle to get under $2.50.... Wish it had been this low in the summer when I was driving hundreds of miles a week. Now we have savings, while the truck is parked.

We just broke the $2.00 mark the past few days in my area. Friday morning I paid $1.98 and on the way home that evening the same station was down to $1.94.
