You can grind up the castors and mix with glycerin until you get the consistency you want.

do you take the whole twin set and throw it in the grinder, or do you cut them open and scrape out the insides into a grinder?

I too am curious.

If your castors are fresh and not dried I see no use In grinding them up. The un dried skin that containes the castor just might tait your lure.
I just take the green castors slice them open and with a dull kinfe scrape out the contents. Try and leave the sac membrane out of your scrapings.Add glycerian and your good to go.
I personaly don't add any sac oli to my castor lures It just dosen't seem natural to me. Castor and oil are two differnt things and are used for two differnt things.
You could make two diffrent batches and see If there Is a difference. Or just use the oil on It's own.

Last year we took a grinded up all the castors we had and mixed it with the oil sacks because we ran out of beaver lure and we did catch beavers with it but we didn't add any preservatives and it rotted.

Hey Denny Kimps, I can't believe you can get all that castor smell out of the blender!!! Your wife must have a sinus problem or something! My wife would smell that for the next four years!
