I have a friend that buys estates. He recently purchased an old hardware and in the back they found this trap that has never been used. He asked me what it is worth but I have never seen one. Any one know the value?

Price will depend on where it was made. That will be the stamping on the bottom edge of the pan.

Being brand new, I would think $125.00 absolute minimum. Possibly higher.

Tell him to leave the trap exactly the way he found it. Don't clean it. Don't dip/dye it. Don't do anything!! It may have picked up a bit of surface rust from being in storage. That is fine. Leave it on the trap, it is called patina.

Friend of mine recently bought a even dozen. Some looked like they had not been used, all in excellent condition. He paid $100.00 each for them. Don't recall what was stamped for origin.

Have your friend get a picture or two of his #14 to you so you can post it. There is a wide variable in pricing on the #14s. Depending on what model, is it a Canadian #14, is it one of several models of Govt. #14s, is it the elusive #14 Square pan over round?
