Hello All,

I got a call today from Terminix asking me if I could do a chipmunk job for them in Jaffery, NH. I told them no. Jaffery is on the other side of the state.

The call surprised me.

I thought they did something, or at least tried to do nuisance wildlife.

You guys got me going because several years ago a friend of ours sold his pest control company to Terminix. I thought they did

animals too but their ad doesn't mention wildlife at all. I think their big money maker is termites because we don't have any

termites and it's always easier to treat for something that's non-existent.

They and Orkin are doing wildlife here. They are trying to buy up wildlife businesses. No wonder I and everyone else have 50% less squirrel jobs than years past.

I did do a job as a sub for them once. Their explanation was they do exclusion and one way doors but didn't want to trap. They had babies in the attic so they were smart enough not to use a one way door on mom. I have a friend in IL does quite a bit of work for them.

Both them and Orkin do bats over here.

Around here, Orkin is a joke. They get their foot in the door doing mice abatement, then put the fear of god in the elderly telling them that they have an attic full of bats, and guano, and need all the insulation removed and replaced. I have been doing work for Terminex for better than 15 years. Personally, I have no problem with them. They are easy to work for as a sub, never complain about the pricing on jobs out of my area that we take, and they pay in a timely manner.

Did work for Erlich a few years back for squirrels. It took several months to get paid and what a problem I had in getting in contact with someone that knew what I was talking about.

No more sub contracting for any of the big name companies. You know what the opinion is regarding a bad taste in your mouth. For some of us its the end of that road for that situation to ever occur again.

We have had no problems with subbing for landscapers, pest controllers, or anyone else. These are all companies that are not huge and

they want their customers to be satisfied. I sort of admire that and we do as good a job as possible so that anyone involved will

speak well of us to the next potential customer.
