I made these pictures many years ago. I was going through some old photobucket pictures and though perhaps some of the new trappers here would like to see them....

Question: on dispatch snare, your S hook is labeled as a BAD, and the end of the cable is where you have it.
Does it close better that way with the cable in line with the cam rather than having the end of the cable passing through the side cam with a nut hammered?
I hope that makes sense.

I have some dispatch snares made that way with the spring, and I have some other snares that the cable goes into the cam at a 90 degree angle, and I was just curious.
ADC that is a very cool diagram set, thank you very much for posting this up. I haven't looked at this before now, my bad, what a cool teaching tool. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

To Bagerman50. I'll bet your Wife would be more than Happy to Staple those diagrams to your Forehead for you? Hopefully NOT with a Roofer's, Hammar type Stapler though. Ouch! LOL.

To Tendertoes or Anyone else: If you're searching for some Killer advice for coons and foothold traps. Land-n-Water sets...Let me know! I use mostly Victor #1 1/2's with extra chain, 2 swivels and a tree-branch drag. Works really well for Mink, Muskrats and Coons in the Water. And Coons, Red and Grey foxes on Land. I use Foothold "Blind" sets almost Exclusively. I have some Great Advice for Trappers that would like to really "Tune-Up" their Foothold traps before the Fall 2025 season also.
