We had a guy stop by today that we had never met before. His Social Security benefits were cut off because they said he worked for

us. He brought some government paperwork for us to fill out that stated he had never ever worked for us. During the course of the

conversation, my daughter discovered that one of our guys had the same SS number except for a six instead of an eight. You would

think that the SS office would be able to figure that out themselves, wouldn't you?

Also the couple that bought our last house ( 17 years ago ) now have a mouse problem. I'm glad they still remembered who to call.

One of our competitors dropped by today to return some stuff he had borrowed and told us that he caught an otter in a coon cage

set right up against the customers house.

Paul; I read on TMan most days. I seldom post anything though as I'm retired from 'ADC' now and nothing really happens that I could mention.

I like your stuff though. Ye have that humorous edge on ye world view. I too tend not to take that much too seriously.

And I wondered if, as I'm in here saying hullo anyway, ye'd mind me adding a little anecdote that did crop up in my rather quieter life, the other day .....?

Local Builder's pulled up at my place. Said he's working in a property with a major barn rat infestation in the roof void. Blah, blah, blaah. I'll probably end up there at the week end *Sigh*

But, just as he's about to leave, this guy has a thought and springs the money one on me .....

" Here; I've heard ..... " (Warning Bells!!!) " I've heard that, if ye catch a live rat. Put it in a cage. Throw gas on it and set it alight ....? Its screams will scare all the other rats away. And they'll never come back ....? "

And I'm like:

............................................................

Got any more of those for us, Paul? Publics pearls of wisdom.

Only if you set it ablaze IN the attic, so the whole house goes up, and the other rats have no choice but to move on!

Pest's Dad, thank you for that excellent tip on getting rid of rats without having to catch them. ( Although I'll probably have

nightmares about screaming rats now ) I think BigBob's tip about setting the whole place on fire would not only get rid of all the

rats, but could give your builder friend work for the rest of the winter.

Right now I'm catching ground squirrels in the north pole by the elfs cottage.

I thought the elves used ground squirrels to help wrap gifts.

I like to mix a little pork sausage in with my ground squirrels.
