Picked this one up awhile ago. I'm not a Sargent collector but I have questions about this one so here goes. I don't know if its original because looks like there are 2 washers at the bottom of the jaw post. Appears to be done a long time ago, but I have my doubts its factory. So I'm looking for information on this and any opinion on if its worth correcting. Thank you, Roger

The washers are original Roger, I have them or have seen them with one washer, two washers and no washers, if you also notice, there are 10 links in the chain, most Sargent cast pans and bolted jaws, even this model have 9 links, I have them with both 9 and 10. Many believe this is the first model Sargent's and others believe this is the first model Crescents made by Sargent. Very hard to come by in any size, the 1 1/2 is probably the most common, with the 0 & 2 being the hardest, next would be the 1. The price guides list a 3 & 4 I have never seen either or heard of one, but again, you never know. Price depends on condition, yours looks like it should clean up pretty good and the numbers read clear, I would not change a thing.
Hope this helps, see you in Sidney.

Wow thanks Kevin. Great information. Thought I screwed up buying this one. Looking forward to seeing you and Bruce in Sidney.
