Hello, I have a trap and was wondering 1) If it was real? and 2) what is the rough value of the trap.

It is a real trap. It is also a reproduction. First made in 1981 for a company in Lewiston, Idaho. May have been made up into the 1990s.

It had weak springs and was designed as a display piece.

Value - maybe as high as $400.00, if it is in really good condition.

Are the teeth riveted on? What is the discoloration on top of the jaws opposite the teeth?

Several years ago I was told there was a #6 Newhouse in a antique store In Idaho. I drove for about 300 miles to look at it. It was one of these Kodiak traps with a #6 Newhouse pan on it. Back then the #6 Newhouse A.T.C pans were still available to buy new. I heard later there was someone putting these pans on quite a few of these traps as well as Herters and they were being sold as Newhouse traps.
