I ordered some stretcher boards and forgot to order belly wedges. Can somone give me the dimensions for for them. I have boards for yotes, coon, cats and mink.

Just measure your boards, then cut the wedge so you have about a 1/4 to 3/8 tip and 1/2 to 3/4 inch base. Mine differ for coon and cats or yotes but they all work. Tom

You can probably find something free laying around to use for belly wedges. Mink boards for coon wedges, cut off lengths of tri-wall cardboard, molding... When I go back home to Ohio I use old electric wire that had to be replaced from the house(3 wrapped wires about 1/2" diamiter).

Hope this helps...

Anything will work that will keep the pelts from shrinking tight to the stretchers!

Dowels are a good idea, romax house wire works as well, then strips of base board works to.

You just wnat some space to help loosen the pelt when it's dry, it makes them come off the stretcher a whole lot easier.

I've used 'quarter round' wood trim. Works pretty well. Just round off one end, and cut to length.

Thanks folks, I guess I didn't realize "belly board" size isn't all that critical. I have a whole lumber yard full of stuff I can use. Again, thanks for the help!
