Anybody have a place that has good prices on the animal grabber poles with the tongs on the end that close when you squeeze the handle? Anybody ever use them on larger animals like dogs?Considering it for an option for non-target release. I figure it'd be faster than fooling with the loops on a catch pole.

I wouldn't use the graspers with the rubber coated tongs on the end as you describe for dogs or wild canine work. I have had a pair for 20 plus years and I can't remember when I used them last.

You will have a difficult to impossible time attempting to control a dog of any size by the neck for any length of time or for your own safety. Very small animals dogs, rabbits, opossums, cats maybe. Too difficult to control an animal with a one handed grasp.

I haven't found a good alternative to a control/catch pole with an adjustable cable on the end.

For release, a pole with a "Y" fork on the end might do you, which is much the same thing as the grabbers.

I live in a county where you cannot trap fox. Think they would be too wimpy to use on releasing greys?

Isn't that the Leggetts Trapper Tool?

Catch pole is the only way to handle a Grey. That tool only works well on small animals, like baby Raccoons in a soffit.
