I would look for an independent agent selling West Bend Mutual. My policy is through The Friedman Group in Dubuque, Iowa.

I have Cincinnati insurance for Liability. it's about $500 a year. Covers my teaching, site auditing and trapping. The agent wasn't thrilled to cover trapping but his company wrote the policy anyway. I also have an LLC, written in such a way to keep me bulletproof. Went to a lawyer who specialized in LLC development. I don't feel naked anymore.

I only found one that would get me a plan. It was Christian baker. Yes you have to be a member of nwcoa but is that really such a bad thing? Lol

Fatdawg, it's a professional liability policy tailored specifically to the work of Commercial Wildlife Control. I don't think my general home and auto policy would cover that type of claim. If your agent says it does, I would want him to give that to me in writing. Cheers, The policy has nothing to do with my homeowners or auto insurance. It is a separate business liability policy. Just out of curiosity what specifics is your policy tailored to that would not be covered by general business liability? I'm still somewhat new to this, just trying to learn and understand what I maybe missing.

Sorry, I must have read your post wrong. If it is a business liability insurance for your ADC business than that is exactly what you should have. I had to fill out an application that asked specifics about wildlife control work, if you handle pesticides, how much you store, how many people you employ, what's their training, etc.
Sounds like you've got it covered. I gave my agent a down an dirty summary of the work I'd be doing and some of the possible claims, such as falling through ceiling, ladder through a window and the you hurt my poor puppy scenario. He says I'll be covered. I don't do bugs or chemicals, so that probably make it easier and cheaper. I looked at joining NWCOA and looked at their insurance. Combined ins cost and membership is more than I pay now and the coverage isn't as high. Also read that you have to provide proof of liability ins when applying for their ins.

After reading all of these posts, I never knew how lucky I truly was until now. I have family who are licensed agents in my state...I didn't have to join anything, or go with a specific person-they surveyed all of the different brokers for me...and found me really good coverage at a fair price. I'm wondering, how much coverage does the NWCOA policy offer?
