Those of you that use chain saw to cut ice beaver trapping, what do you change the bar oil to, veg. oil?

I prefer an ice saw over a chainsaw. A lot lighter and don't have to deal with spraying water and rusted up/frozen saw parts later.

Beaver trapping or spear shack hole cutting, look into an ice saw if you're going to be doing it on a regular basis.

If not, bring your saw in afterwards and let it dry out good.

I don't use anything. Just at the end of the day I take it in dry it out and spray wd40 on the chain and sprockets. Ice stretches out chains

It is a good method for cutting and cleaning out holes tho.

I was surprised to see the last gallon of bar oil I purchased was a vegetable based oil. I think it was a Tractor Supply product.
