Began setting a plantation in Southern Ga...with cattle....today.

Thinking some of y'all that are snowed in might like to see some pics.

This is a "pay job" with coyotes as the main target, but some beaver traps will be set on same property in a day or so.

Enjoy the pics. I'll try to take some pics everyday and post on this thread.

Just FYI....I choose set location....hopefully within inches of coyote tracks/scat/kick-scratch...

Dig trap bed in front of small backing and anchor trap. Pogos for me now (cut on pull day).

Bed trap with pan exposed. Traps are waxed only...not dyed.

Auger dirthole. Pull excess dirt over pan to cover. Also use excess dirt to guide feet.

Rusty J's Lucky beaver meat bait and Grandpa's Mr. Coyote lure on this one.

Ready for the cows to stomp it...before coyote comes along.

Good luck on trapping around those nosy dang things. They are a good indicator when you catch something as they stand around them in a circle.

I'm 53 years old and if it accumulates it will be the first time in my life that I've been trapping in snow.

I've only seen accumulated snow 3 times in my life here in Southern Ga....about an inch or so each time.

Yeah. I've trapped this property before....last winter, but the cows were closed off from most of the 5 thousand acres.

Now, most interior gates are open and there are several separate herds totalling about 3 or 4 hundred head or more in there. That's the negative.

The positive is that there are only one or two gates to open and close. Last year it was about 20 gates per day.

Yes.

I've never used his lures. I did do a sniff test on them though. I like them.

After a cow licked the dirt off the top of the pan on a 550, i pulled and just decided it isnt worth trapping around those aggravating delicious nosy things. I just couldnt imagine trying to explain how i caught a cow by the tongue to the landowner.
