Hello everyone! Hope everyone's trapping season is going swell. Wanted to get some opinions on trap positioning. I have seen many posts on location and bedding your trap but not as much on trap positioning. More specifically do you position dog to the rear or front of set or do you position levers in line with dirt hole if you are using a dirt hole set? I have positioned traps in many ways and have had equal catches and misses haha. Curious as to what your preferences are? I really enjoy this forum and have learned so much from it.

Thanks for viewing,
Mike

I put the dog towards the attractant on land. Just out of habit.

Same here, but really i set the pan(not the whole trap) where i want the animal to step. I always try to keep that in mind.
