What does everyone recommend for a bench swagger for making snares and cableing traps?

Cheap as you can find. Mine was well under $100 and works just perfectly.

I saw the guy from Coon Creek outdoors weld his 25$ hand swager to his table and it worked just like a bench swager. I bought a hand swager and it is cumbersome if you don't have your work locked into a vice.
If your gonna use a swager I recommend a bench or welded swager for sure, however I've switched to steel stops, and just use a hammer. They are threaded so they grab the cable and they don't come loose. A bit More pricey but I like using the anvil and hammer. It's faster for me and I won't lose a yote due to a failed aluminum stop.

Food for thought.
I already owned the hammer and anvil, and the 65-120$ you spend on a swager you can put towards some nice snare shop parts.

Now if your going to be cranking out hundreds of snares as a small business plan well by all means get the swager.

I use an old pair of small bolt cutters that has a gap between the filed jaws. Jaws are filed flat. Sometimes I use a hammer.
