But it seems like this guy is inflating his bees worth a bit to me. 500,000 bees at 30,000 bees per hive = about 17 hives give or take. 60k for the 17 hives gives them a worth of about $3500 each. I'll sell him my hives for half that. Heck a lot of the big guys around me blow their bees out, pull the honey and buy new packages in the spring. They don't even attempt to winter them anymore.
Now I don't condone the vandalism but theres someone taking advantage here to and over dramatising this imo. Yep The judge should have the boys out there fixing any broken hives and feeding,.. and in the spring paying for any lost hives. Sounds like some of the hives were saved.

Do you honestly think the guy would want the two knuckle heads working at his place? I don’t think so! I hope the man gets $60,000 for the damage. It’s very rare when something happens like this that the victims actually get what they deserve.

In most states kids 12 and 13 can't even commit a crime. There might be some civil litigation (parents will have to fork out some cash) but make no mistake, those kids aren't going to be bunking with Bubba for the next 20 years in San Quinton.
