Anyone catch and save mice in the barn for yote and fox bait?

I used to save all the mice I'd catch my camp throughout the year. I'd freeze them in a gallon Ziploc bag and, come trapping season, I'd stuff them down the dirt hole as bait. I stopped using them a few years ago because I noticed no difference in the canine catch between baited holes in those just using lure and urine.

I did notice an increase in nontarget catches (coon, possum and skunk) with the baited holes.

I should add that I used lure and urine in at the baited holes as well as the non-baited holes.

I try to get them to live in my mink boxes in the off season. Then I save the nest for in the hole. The smellier the better. I use the mice in my mink boxes. I just catch more fox with lure and pee(bladed pee).

I save all of mine. My mouse line runs 24/7/365 in my outbuildings. I too freeze mine in gallon ziploc bags. I have better luck if i put the mouse in the hole facing out, i think a yote, fox or cat is more interested if they can see eyes staring back at them. Ive not noticed more nontargets. That being said, i catch more with a manufactured bait/lure than i do by throwin a mouse in a hole. I just like to use everything i can and the mice gotta go anyway. The girlfriend hates the mouse bags in the freezer so i may sell all 400+ mice to a local baitmaker.

I will gladly feast on those who would subdue me.

I'm going to try and catch a bunch of rats for a lure maker in trade for some of his products. I have used them at sets. I really like half a rat or part of a rabbit for the visual affects down big dirt holes at remakes.

Had some I aged all summer them drained of the liquid. Makes some strong lure ingredient.

I got a bunch of mice from some mouse store that sells mice to laboratory's. I kept the urine soaked bedding and used It In my dirt holes. Best bait/lure I ever used. Nothing more natural and nothing reeks more then mouse pee In some wood shavings.

Just posted the same thing last week & the consensus was yes, they work. Been "trapping" a few around the shop & have 4 in DHs now. Haven't caught anything in a few days but we'll see...

No rats. I'm only interested in wild mice, fresh frozen and not poisoned

Just out of curiosity is there a difference between rats and mice when it comes to bait and lure making

There is a difference between rats and mice. I've been told to just buy my mice from a pet store. I'm not sure if there is a difference in smell from pet store to wild, but I'll stick with wild since that is what was used to develop my product.
