K9 extreme. Its my favorite out of everything i got. I got 550s, 650s, bridger 2s, bridger 3s and long springs. I think all my 2s, 550s and maybe some 3s are going so i can convert to k9 extremes. I like the extremes over the 650 because the pan is bigger, and sits below the jaws so you should have a catch anytime something sets it off.

I like the 650’s ( no loose jaw) and I also like the setter from F n T , simple and easy !

I have had the best luck with the extreme out of those 3. I have only had my jakes for a few months and have not caught as many critters with them but what I have caught with them they preformed just as well as the extreme. I had some 650s a while back and got to where I did not like them. I didn't have setters for them and having to get both jaws under the catch could be a pain. I also did not like the trigger system on the 650s. The ones I had could have used a new set of pans as there was a spot rubbed on the underside of the pan from extensive use. The big point on the extremes is the price. You can get 4 coiled, offset, laminated and dipped, ready to go out of the box for cheaper than the jakes. They cost a little more that the 650s but they do come dipped and ready to go, so that's a plus in my book. Let me know if you will be selling some jakes. I might be interested.

Good luck! What you are shooting for is difficult to achieve. The problem is that all traps have their pros and cons. You just have to figure out what you are willing to adapt to. No matter what others have to say about their favorite trap you have to remember that it works for them. It might not work for you and the only way to find out is to test them in the field. Knowing what jaw spread, what pan size, base plate no base plate, etc.. You get the picture. It might seem that a specific trap would work in your area but come to find out it doesn't because of something you didn't plan on but found out once you set them in the field.

Thanks, Jim. I've come to be spoiled with the MB550's for a multi-species trap, and the 450's for dry land coon, but I really like having a larger kill zone for coyotes. Our limit is 6.5" inside spread, so any of those traps would be within the realm. My future home requires offsets on anything bigger than a 5.75" inside, or else rubber jaws (I'm cheap, and would just assume avoid RJ's whenever possible). I like the 650 for heft and the lack of a loose jaw, but don't like the trigger mechanism as much (can't get the pan level and setting the night latch isn't fun). I guess I should just learn how to run a machine shop and make my own design.....when I get everything else done and have unlimited time and money to burn.

Why would you pick anyone of those 3 ? I cant say that I am partial to any of them. I like a dogless trap, and I like the Vic/mony offset trap in about any size .

Just get some Sterling 600s and don't look back.

Every 650 I have,the pan sets dead level,from the factory.

I’m not sure the pan is any bigger on the extreme, but I’m not sure how to measure for square inches on a round pan, lol !

I have six, all bought new, and not one sits level.

ive been using Jakes for the last 3 years and can't imagine anything better for coyotes(and i have Sterling 600's). Love them both.... but jakes are simple and awesome.
