The place with 2 snares above^ caught a lynx double but both were eaten. We had a big snow fall and wind last week so the trapline was pretty messy. Spent the majority of the weekend just breaking trails and resetting a few of the #3s. I made a priority of getting more 120s out on Saturday though in a new area that I had 11 120s set. When I went to check the 11 I picked up 7 marten and couldn't find one set. The land is completely different looking, some willows and branches with flagging tape were fallen, and there's as much as 4-5 feet of new powder in some places. I was thinking hard of the spot I was missing as I prebaited 10 more boxes at the cabin. When I returned to set them I seen a broken willow where I was figuring the set was and sure enough it was there with a big marten hanging. My traps are set a short walk up the banks from the lakes and creeks so the boxes are not always easily visible from the trail. I also had another monster size male freshly caught. Got a few lynx mink and Fox too. Lots of drifts now so no more hundred miles an hour between sets. Stepped off my Skidoo into powder snow to my armpits in one long skinny lake. Fought with slush, wet clothes, and willows hanging in the Portages all weekend. Got hung up once in slush but luckily not too bad, other than that my Skidoo is a beast for the nasty conditions out there. I had it completely buried at least twice but she just kept pulling. I'm hoping the new line and the handful of reset traps make my next trip!
