I would generally set up at major drainage or area access road intersections generally more than 3 miles apart. But, as "The Beav" suggest set up where abundant travel sign is noted.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

I do not pay much attention to distance if I have an abundance of bait and snares. The more the merrier! I am actually leaning towards closer than further, if bait is abundant. Quicker to clean out an area this way, you can always move dead baits. I have found our yotes move so slowly thru their areas. Ie they may take two or three weeks to show back up again in a given area.

Right now I have one area with three baits within a mile of each other. Plan to move this cluster now, as the yotes have pretty well been caught.

In this area my bait piles are 3/4 mile apart. But the terrain also is a factor between these set ups. Goes from open farm land to forest thick wooded areas. My baits are in areas they can naturally come to the bait in narrow travel areas where it is easier to pinch them down.

Are we talking fox, coyote or coon?

1 every 4 sections should draw most of the yotes that use those 4 sections.

Common sense catches alot of fur..
Pay homage to all you harvest..
