Is there any products available to purchase to help stabilize a MB 750 on a hard surface? I have a couple of adc jobs that have retaining walls with concrete steps coming out of the lake into yard. Only place to set is on the steps . Looking for something to allow a mb 750 to lay flat on the concrete steps and not be easily knocked over .

Cut out a small chunk of sod, turn it upside down and bed your trap on it under water. I have done this before in a unique culvert I had set up.

Slather that sucker with dirt and mud. Right under the trap.

Couldn't use any mud or dirt due to all the wave action during the day time but was able to wedge enough flat stones around it stable. Wish they made a product to use for this scenario. Have to be creative to trap and stake around concrete structures for sure. Going to try to fab up something for next time.

Maybe I should find a 6 year old to tell me how to post a picture right side up.

Attach a rail road plate with wire directly to the frame. Twist the wire tight. I have done this before and it makes a stable platform.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I really like that idea. A lot.

Wouldn't that make it tough to keep the trap swiveling well? I'd think you'd get twist outs.

I use sticks under the jaws and levers. Never had a problem with stabilizing that way.

I have been working on a portable trap bed for a number of situations with a molded silicone "negative" form on a thin backing(to stiffen it). Still working on getting it down to minimum material and somewhat universal for trap brands by trap size. Has been working well in blind snow trail sets. I have a stamp the same shape of bed and press it into snow to make a flat indentation to set bed into. I like to use the dry seeds of Indian tobacco to fill trap jaws(or loose peat moss) and lightly top with sifted snow or pearlite depending on the temp.

Should work great in flat set or in a portable dirt hole.

Rock solid stability you can place most anywhere. Trap won't freeze to it.

Pretty simple.

Empty shot bags work well for your smaller traps. But for your larger traps you need a bigger bag. Or try and find some of those larger bank bags. Ro take some old sweats or jeans and cut off sections from the legs. Sew one end shut fill with sand and then zip tie the other end shut. Don't over fill.
Wiggle the trap down on the bag just like you were bedding a trap on dry ground.

When you done cut the zip tie and empty the bag. Let them dry and they are good for next year.
The other nice thing Is you don't have to fill them ahead of time If you have sand handy at the location.

And If attached to the chain they will help In drowning your catch.

RJcole,it may be too late for you but you could make your own concrete bed.Lay a sheet of plastic on a flat surface, mix and pour some Sakrete on it.Now,cover the cement with cling wrap and press your trap down in.Leave the trap till the cement firms up.This should give you a perfect trap bed that is heavy enough, not to be easily bumped around.
