I make my own H stands out of 3/8" rebar. Easy to do. I really need to figure out how to post pictures without Photobucket.

Hard to make them for what you can buy a stakalizer for. I do add a washer or flat iron onto the stake part so they don't spin. Just make sure the washer or flat iron is small enough you can still slip your chain attachment over. It doesn't take much. I rarely use my stands anymore. The stakalizers are a stand and stake in one. Just easier to deal with...and adjust height.

These are the ones I make. You can make them as long as you want to.

Thanks goldy, so the spring eyes sit on the flat stock? Or is that an optical illusion?

Yes they do. At least the Belisles do, other brands rest on the rivets.

I like to put my 220's down to the rivet (even belisles), then finish setting the trap so the spring eyes squeeze onto the bend or flat stock like goldy uses.

When I make my stands for 330's, I make them so they are snug on Belisles. That 2" piece sticking up from the tabs in my picture is tight in between the spring eyes. There's no rocking once the trap is set on the stand. I'm sure the same could be done with 220's.
