Minnesota has big coon. Not the prettiest color wise, but they tend to run heavy. Next fall I only want to stretch XL and above. From your collective experiences, will a 15 pound coon stretch that long on a wooden stretcher? (All coon below 15 pounds or whatever the weight is, will be frozen and sold green).

A 15# coon will be XL. Closer to 2XL, Hope this helps.

All of mine from northern mn went 4XL

We weigh our coon just to get an idea of how big they are. Mid January coon usually have lost so much fat weight this method doesn’t work. But for fall coon weight is a pretty decent indicator of stretch. Thanks for your input.

By the way, has anyone sold coon lately and if so, did you see averages over $7 ?

I weighed about 50 late October coon one year, from central Minnesota, and they averaged 16 pounds. A 15 pound coon would easily stretch XL, it doesn't take a very big Minnesota coon to stretch XL.

10-12# coon are usually an XL here in ohio. A 15 would be closer to 3x.

10 pounds would be my guess too, on stretching XL.
