Darn but Ms. Donna and I won't be able to attend. I have ranches lined up to trap from now (I'm in San Saba) until first part of July. Only time "off" is when we go to our Academy in Kansas in March. Whitetails sure do drop fawns late in good 'ol Texas and you gotta love all these cute little exotic calves.
I wish everyone a great convention.

Hello Mark. I'm in San Saba also. Hope to run Into you sometime at one of these affairs for a proper handshake and howdy. Sounds fine sir. I have a new ranch here that I'm on currently and I can't catch as many coyotes and cats as I'd like quite yet (day 4) as the raccoons are wearing me out! 22 raccoons thus far and the herd of them are not quitters. I figure I'll catch 40 before the mayhem subsides I did catch a hog of a nice bobcat yesterday which was a plus. Dogs have a bit of mange in them I see. This is a VERY pretty area! Mark

http://www.ttfha.comHas there been an issue of Texas Fur Trails come out in the last 6 months? Donna and I are Life Members as well as our business and we haven't gotten anything in quite some time. Haven't even been asked if we'd like to advertise and we used to have front inside color ad every issue? Disheartening to see much of the momentum gained in 2016-17 lost along the trail now that some have stepped down in the association. I see others like Robin Wheelus and Harvey Dickens have stepped up and that's positive news. Leadership needs to broaden it's horizon and look for new personnel that will sustain ttfha for years to come or it will succumb, as many trapping associations are currently, to "old age". I see the same faces time after time in ttfha photos and would urge leadership to cast a wider net and be inclusive to new talent to inject "young age" thinking. It's easy to say, "It can't be done." Hard work says "otherwise". Texas is a marvelous state and I still maintain as I did as former ttfha president that ttfha should be a national leader in the trapping industry. Of course Donna and I will work with ttfha leadership as much as possible to make that happen. Mark

I really appreciate the hard work Mitchell and the current people with the association have put into texas I enjoy attending when I can and doing demos there the responsibility the current leaders have is very high and I think that they have done very well and are makeing new plans and executing them with great self sacrifice no excuses and integrity to finish what they started Thank you guys

Mark, it is nice to see that you don't have to devote so much time to your church now. That allows you to be gone trapping and to offer your assistance to the TTFHA. We have had some issues with a new printer and we are currently looking for another printer. The Texas Furs Trails have been mailed in the last week. Kind of what I was thinking when I was reading Mark is going to be 'trapping ranches nonstop until July'

We have had some issues with a new printer and we are currently looking for another printer. The Texas Furs Trails have been mailed in the last week. Mitchell, Good to see you on here. I'm still an elder at Life Church in my home town and quite active but thankfully we have added staff, additional elders, a group of very fine deacons serving with endless energy... and this all helps to share the load at our church. Our little town of La Vernia is becoming a bonafide suburb of San Antonio, growing by leaps and bounds and Life Church is mirroring that growth also. Tiss a wondrous thing. Most Sundays I run back to the home base and attend church and often this last month and a half, I've beat feet home to attend bible study also (if I'm within 175 miles or so). It's a bit hectic but I've never been a-scared of hard work I keep my ranch work within a radius that allows me to trap and help at church plus it allows Ms. Donna to run out and run the lines with me + do all she does with our lure business. If the ranch is too far away and needs a trapper and is willing to pay for predator service, I have a few guys I can call and line up. If TTFHA needs assistance, I'm a call away. I look forward to getting the Fur Trails magazine soon.
